Engage in supervision of the year-round operation of farm workers, equipment, and machines, including tillage, cultivating, swathing, mowing, baling, drilling, and planting. Train and supervise laborers. Oversee upkeep, repairs, and maintenance. Operate farm equipment and machinery. Purchase tools, supplies, and parts. Inspect crops and fields for planting, spraying,
and harvesting. Plan work schedules. Record equipment service information. Confer with managers to evaluate conditions, to develop plans, or to discuss issues such as changes in fertilizers, herbicides, or cultivating techniques.
