Up to $37 per hour, including Shift Differential assigned to qualifying shifts

This position is responsible for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of all trucks/vehicles and related equipment. To succeed in this role, one should have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic tools, service, and diagnostic equipment, strong attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to work independently or as a team member.
Knowledge of Diesel vehicle mechanical systems (e.g., transmission, exhaust, electrical)
Understanding of common diagnostic equipment with aptitude in the use of hand and/or power tools and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
ASE certifications are highly desired but not required.
1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical, or equivalent, experience is a PLUS.
*Class A Mechanic = 5+ yrs experience. *Class B Mechanic = 3-5 yrs experience. *Class C Mechanic = 1-3 yrs experience.

Able to pass pre-employment knowledge/skill tests to determine the probability of job success and mechanical classification.
Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills.
Must be able to read and write in English, as required for documentation of diagnosis and solutions.
Must have their own tools and steel-toed shoes (the company provides safety glasses and hearing protection).
Able to pass a 10-year background check.
Able to pass a drug test/medical physical exam

Vision – Close visual acuity to perform activities such as reading, using measurement devices, viewing electronic devices, assembling, inspecting small parts, and/or operating machines and power tools, operating a motor vehicle, and determining the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work performed.

Job Description:
Conduct diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling and recharge, electrical, and common fault codes.
Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trucks/vehicles and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty replacement parts.
Perform leak detection and repairs, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements, and front & rear main engine seal replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Perform routine maintenance and Federal inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment.
Problem-solve, document an action plan for all repairs, and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs.
Ensure a safe, organized, tidy workspace, regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
Follow all health and safety rules, guidelines, and common-sense safety practices.
Ability to work independently, support coworkers, work as part of a team, and work well with coworkers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
