Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northern Division Headquarters (DHQ) in Roseville, MN, is committed to "Doing the Most Good" by supporting worship, housing, and service centers, addressing community needs, and administering emergency disaster services.

The Annual Giving Director oversees all aspects of the annual giving program, including donor engagement, direct response fundraising, and stewardship efforts. This role director fundraising campaigns, maintains donor data integrity, and collaborates with internal teams to strengthen donor relationships. Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and recognizing donors, the director works to meet and exceed budget goals while growing annual giving revenue.

Essential Functions (Approximate time spent)
Annual Direct Public Support Campaigns (30%): Design, implement, and grow all annual direct public support campaigns, including online, direct mail, and newsletters.
Donor Engagement & Correspondence (30%): Work with the communications team to maintain an active level of written and digital correspondence with all donors.
Direct Response Communication & Fundraising Tools (20%): Utilize direct response communication and fundraising tools (direct mail, email, website) to inform, engage, connect, and solicit current, lapsed, and prospective donors. Monitor, report, and analyze outcomes.
Stewardship & Direct Mail Campaigns (15%): Prepare and execute stewardship mailings, including direct mail, to enhance donor relationships and encourage continued support.
Donor Database Management & Stewardship (5%): Collaborate with the development database administrator at Territorial Headquarters (THQ) to maintain and cultivate individual donor records in the donor database.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five years of fundraising experience, with a focus on annual giving, campaigns, and individual solicitation.
Advanced proficiency in donor database systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
Experience working both independently and in a team-based, cross-functional environment.
Must pass background checks, hold a valid driver's license, and pass an MVR check.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions
Primarily sedentary, involving computer and phone work, with occasional standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Requires effective communication with colleagues, donors, and the community.

Driving/Travel Requirements
Travel throughout the local community using an agency or personal vehicle required. Rare overnight trips.
