The Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota ranks among the country's top professional public policy and planning schools, widely recognized for its success in advancing the common good through a comprehensive, world-class program. The School offers six distinctive master's degrees, a doctoral degree, and six certificate programs that match students' passion with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to solve real-world challenges.
As needed, the Humphrey School hires lecturers and adjunct faculty to teach courses which supplement graduate faculty offerings and/or expertise of the graduate faculty. These appointments have no research or publication responsibilities but may assist with service-related teaching duties.
Responsibilities may include: Developing courses; Delivering high-quality teaching to students; Developing assessment measures (e.g., exams, quizzes, etc.) and providing students with timely feedback and evaluation; Providing accessibility to students via office hours, UMN email account, etc.; Continuing personal growth within the profession, keeping current with the field, and broadening knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Master's degree; Relevant professional and/or teaching experience; Demonstrated competence to teach the course material.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $2,500 - $10,000 per course; depending on education/qualifications/experience. Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications. Learn more about retirement plans.
