Required Skills:
Minimum Requirements:

Must be free from problematic substance use according to 245G statute.
Knowledge and experience in the field of 245G substance use disorder and/or mental health.
Microsoft Outlook/Office experience required
High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred
CPR for Healthcare Worker certification required.
Good driving record and current driver’s license required
No DUIs in last three years; No more than three moving violations/accidents in past three years
Must be able to pass DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations.
Strong attention to detail
Flexible schedule
Must pick up 4 shifts/month
Must be able to demonstrate an ability to be responsive in an effective manner, while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere.
Must value diversity and be able to relate well and enjoy working with women and children of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
Must be 18 years or older.

Job Description:
Wayside Recovery Center is looking for Recovery Advocates with CPRS, CNA and TMA certifications or DSP, PCA or medication aide experience at our Residential Treatment Centers in Saint Louis Park and Minneapolis. The Base pay range for this role is $16-$20/hour with additional shift differentials DOQ.

Wayside’s Inpatient Treatment Centers provide residential treatment that takes a holistic approach to recovery. Our services include coordinated behavioral/physical health care tailored to each woman’s medical needs and treatment history. Here at Wayside, we provide continuing care and supportive services. Wayside employees help our clients to understand their alcohol or substance use and develop healthy coping skills. We support women in their journey to break the risk of generational transmission. Our goal is to empower women to break the cycle of addiction and trauma.

Responsibilities

1. Be available to clients seeking guidance or support, as well as responding appropriately to identify needs.

2. Supervise client activities. Respond to emergencies and effectively manage crisis. Record pertinent client data.

3. Monitor health needs of clients; supervise clients in self-administration of prescribed medication.

4. Assist with tasks associated with clients arriving and leaving Wayside Recovery Center. Assist in various programs, as needed. Collect urine samples for drug screens. Complete required paperwork at admission and discharge.

5. Role model behavior that is consistent with and supportive to people in recovery from substance use disorder. Such behavior will include upholding ethical standards of the program and reliable attendance.

Additional Duties

1. Maintain confidential client records. Perform other routine support tasks, including filing, photocopying, and answering telephones.

2. Shift-specific Tasks: Overnight shift – awake overnight, secure building and set alarm. Day and Evening shifts – provide transportation to clients in Wayside Recovery Center vehicles.

3. DHS compliance requires that a RA staff person, trained in CPR, be present and available 24 hours per day. If there is only one RA staff person present, the staff person may not leave the building.

4. You will be in the OCRA (on call recovery advocate) rotation and follow the OCRA expectations.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Base rate: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
