SunOpta Overview: SunOpta Inc. is a leader in the plant-based foods and beverages, fruit-based foods and beverages, and organic ingredient sourcing industries. SunOpta is focused on sustainability and specializes in the sourcing, processing, and packaging of organic, conventional, non-GMO food products. SunOpta is looking for passionate and self-motivated students to join our 2024 Summer Internship Program. Internships will last between 8 - 12 weeks based on the successful candidates' availability. Internship positions will be paid competitively.
Job Summary: Interns that join our team will utilize the knowledge and skills that they've gained in the classroom by working side-by-side with professionals at SunOpta and become part of a team and gain meaningful on-the-job experience. Interns will gain insight into the latest trends in the Food industry while working on special projects, improving processes, and creating new and innovative products. Essential Functions of the Job: Sustainability Internship: The intern will work with different areas of finance, internal audit, legal, communications, procurement, and sustainability to gain exposure and an understanding of each area as it relates to sustainability. Lead 1-2 Special Projects Assist with sustainability reporting Provide general sustainability support Help with supply chain assessment, investigation and prioritization Assist with reviewing data and sustainability software implementation Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must at least a junior in college and actively pursuing a degree. Graduate students will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship experience. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Additional Considerations: Travel: Minimal travel is required. Location: This position will be located at our Corporate Office in Eden Prairie, MN. Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
