Responsibilities



Responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the psychosocial services for patients of PrairieCare. The Therapist provides a comprehensive range of services to patients and their families and seeks to enhance the functioning of patients.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Provide group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy for assigned patients
May work with children, adolescents, and adults and serving patients with mental illness, and/or a combination of both, as assigned
Coordinates care with other relevant internal and external providers
Available to provide coverage for other Therapists when absent or as the need arises
Contributes to the interdisciplinary team the perspective of their unique training in the area of family systems and/or social work theory
May be assigned supervision responsibilities for master's level interns based on qualifications
Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences, and age appropriate care for the assigned department
Adheres to the Code of Ethics required by their licensing board, as well as facility policies and procedures
Some evenings and weekends may be required






Qualifications



Master's degree and licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Psychologist (LP).
Two years previous mental health experience strongly preferred
Experience in intensive psychiatric healthcare settings preferred
Experience using electronic health records preferred
Ability to maintain required malpractice insurance
Have computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Word
Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in written and verbal form
Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
PRN therapists work a minimum of 4 shifts per month that may include some weekend and early evening hours. Additional shifts can be added to schedule if requested and if shifts are available. PRNs cover for both planned and unplanned staff absences
