Previous manufacturing experience isn't needed! What is important is a strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment! You might be mixing products, weighing/scaling material, packaging material, or supplying our lines with product. Whatever role you are assigned to, you will need to be reliable and able to work within industry standard Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) at all times. Some of the GMP's will vary by location (i.e., artificial nails/eyelashes, nail polish, jewelry, etc. cannot be worn while producing and/or packaging food products).ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary duties and responsibilities of the Janitor consist of but are not limited to:Responsible for carrying out general sanitation in accordance with established quality and safety procedures and policies.Operates and maintains specialized cleaning equipment.Communicates status of assignment with Support Leader.May be exposed to strong cleaning chemicals/solventsCompletes all applicable documentationResponsible for cleaning production work areas, outside premises and warehouse as assigned.Other duties consist of mopping, sanitizing machinery, cleaning walls, floors, production rooms, and storage areas.Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED requiredSKILLS REQUIREMENTSHas an excellent work ethic and attendance recordReceives & interprets verbal and written instructions accuratelyConfronts challenging situations with a problem solving mentalityDemonstrates active participation in solutions and continually finds ways to improve processesAbility to interact and work well with a wide variety of people and departmentsShows a sense of urgency as well as composure through tight deadlinesSAFETY REQUIREMENTSHearthside's first priority is keeping our employees and visitors safe.Therefore all employees are required to:Follow all current and future safety policies, at all timesParticipate in all safety training and pass written or verbal exams as necessaryWear required PPE at all times while in the production/warehouse area of the plantReport all incidents immediately; participate in the incident investigation and creation of solutionsFollow company and regulatory standards for housekeepingCoach employees on working safely whenever possibleCorrect unsafe conditions when discovered and follow-up to ensure correction is completeNotify the EHS Coordinator, manager, team leader or other person of authority of any known safety issues that cannot be immediately corrected on your ownPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSIn terms of an 8 or 12 hour workday, "Occasionally" equals 1% to 33%; "Frequently" equals 34% to 66%, and "Continuously" equals 67% to 100% of the time. In an 8 hour workday the job holder should be able to:Continuously stand and walk.Occasionally bend/stoop, squat, twist, push/pull, kneel and crouch.Occasionally reach above shoulder level.Occasionally climb to a height of approximately ten (10) feet.Occasionally carry/lift up to fifty (50) pounds.Occasionally use his/her legs, arms, and shoulders to push/pull items.Occasionally use his/her head and neck in flexing and rotating.Continuously be around moving machinery.Occasionally operate a forklift and/or powered pallet jack.Continuously be in factory and/or warehouse working conditions.Frequently be in dusty conditions and be exposed to cleaning solvents, lubricantsContinuously work at heights up to 30 feet ( applies to Ceiling Cleaner only)Continuously work with his/her hands/arms extended over his/her shoulders/head ( applies to Ceiling Cleaner only)Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
