Job Summary: Provides care that is appropriate, efficient, and effective patient care meeting the customer's requirements for Occupational Therapy. Provides work direction, mentoring, training for employees and monitors departmental metrics.

Job Description: Principle Responsibilities

Provides therapy to patients.

Generates a therapy diagnosis by gathering patient data and assessing the patient.

Designs, implements and modifies therapeutic interventions.

Educates patient and family in establishing goals of treatment.

Sets improvement levels and determines the amount of time needed to reach that level.

Uses re-examination to determine whether predicted outcomes are reasonable modifies as necessary.

Accommodates selection of tests and measures and therapeutic interventions to the age of the patient/client.

Reports and records service charges.

Provides safe patient equipment, ensures personal safety and safe work environment.

Selects and delegates appropriate tasks of the plan of care.

Supervises therapeutic programs and activities carried out by aides.

Coordinates care with inter-disciplinary referrals or referrals to other practitioners.

Performance process improvement activities for the department.

Supports and promotes new services as requested.

Provides ongoing input to enhance the services provided by the department.

Develops and promotes new and current programs as requested.

Leads employees, programs or workflows.

Provides feedback with peer interviewing, orientation, completion of Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC), coach for performance, and performance reviews.

Interprets and applies regulatory and safety requirements.

Tracks metrics for budget planning, projections, patient volumes, program growth, productivity, supplies, expenses and revenue.

Monitors referrals, programs and workflows and makes needed adjustments.

Trains and mentors employees.

Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required

2 to 5 years in the practice or program area required

Licensed Occupational Therapist - MN Department of Health required if providing services in Minnesota upon hire or

Licensed Occupational Therapist - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required If providing services in Wisconsin upon hire and

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy required upon hire and

BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 90 Days and

Driver's license if providing services for Home Care and Hospice upon hire required Leadership Capabilities

Additional Job Description:

This position is for a PT on our hospital based resource team. This team provides coverage in all practice areas across our metro sites and regional sites within 60 miles of Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
