Job Description
Oversee the employee and advisor business resource network activities. Support the advancement and execution of the corporate diversity and inclusion (D\u0026I) strategy. Partner with key stakeholders to engage internal and external partners, community outreach opportunities and internal communications.
Responsibilities
Manage the Diversity Center of Excellence support and oversight of the business resource networks, including monitoring adherence to guidelines, leading the budget process, developing monthly and quarterly reports, and leading monthly BRN meetings, network orientations & training. Provide guidance and consultation to launch new networks and to establish network plans and goals that tie to enterprise objectives.
Partner with Talent Acquisition, business resource networks, and business unit leaders to help recruit talent and build our brand at targeted Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) including attending career fairs, engaging with students, and building internal awareness and support. Provide oversight for the Howard University 21st Century Advantage Program, including the annual plan and overall program management and execution.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) and internal partners to develop Diversity Center of Excellence events to help drive greater employee engagement and awareness of Diversity at Ameriprise. Lead the planning, development, and execution of the Executive Leadership Team Diversity Speaker series, Global Inclusion Week, monthly diversity recognition month plans and other events to develop an inclusive culture.
Partner with corporate communications and with other relevant functions across the enterprise (i.e. HR, Business Units) to engage all employees throughout the enterprise with clear and motivating D&I messaging and communications. Develop the annual Diversity Center of Excellence Communication plan and quarterly newsletter in partnership with the Communications team.
Help manage corporate sponsorships to drive greater engagement and awareness of Ameriprise with external audiences. Maintain external relationships with prioritized local and national organizations in support of the sponsorship plan. Lead the development and execution of external surveys (i.e., Military Friendly, Disability Equality Index). Leverage external partnerships to develop D&I best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong PowerPoint skills.
Ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations for a wide variety of audiences.
Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong working relationships across the enterprise.
Experience and familiarity with diversity and inclusion efforts, Affirmative Action, and the EEOC.
Proven ability to influence when necessary to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently.
Previous Human Resources experience and strong interest in Diversity and Inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in managing relationships with external community partners.
Demonstrated skills and experience with leading projects from design through implementation.
