Description

Responsible for managing Environmental Services or Security staff as well as providong assistance to Facility Management team in completion of multiple functions of building operations and maintenance for a portfolio of buildings.

Responsibilities:

Manages staff schedules

Works with Facilities Director to manage staff performance

Responsible for training and educating new employees and ongoing education opportunities

Responsible for selecting Environmental Services products and equipment

Must be knowledgeable in environmental services procedures in a hospital setting

Familiar with MDH and Joint Commission rules and regulations

Supervising EVS includes servicing and cleaning assigned areas to ensure environmental service standards are met

Supervising EVS includes responsible for making sure that the changing linens, cleaning units including patient rooms, groups rooms, offices, and common areas are cleaned and in good repair (for EVS services)

Stocks supplies and maintains safety throughout facility by complying to Joint Commission standards and PrairieCare policies

Must be willing to travel between sites

Oversees and/or coordinates maintenance/repair work assignments performed by technicians, outside vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and EVS work

Responds to client inquires and complaints. Ensures timely and quality service delivery to customers. Follow-up communication to ensure customer satisfaction

Performs facilities inspections and prepares reports

May coordinate/assist with employee move, space additions, and change activities

Coding of invoices, and expense reports to finance

Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of four years of related progressive experience and/or training. Driver's license required

Previous supervisory experience is required

A thorough knowledge of Facility Management and/or Building Management is required

Knowledge of Hospital Environmental Services procedures, HIPPA, and OSHA regulation experience preferred

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and intranet/internet. Ability to use work order system

Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and CDC safety guidelines that pertain to maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Ability to multitask and manage multiple dissimilar projects

Ability to use supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner, while ensuring safety and cleanliness

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, co-workers, and/or supervisors

Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills

Ability to work under pressure to deliver against deadlines or unexpected changes at site(s)
