POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This position will support field operations within the Regions Hospital Emergency Medical Services Department. The EMS Pharmaceutical & Supply Technician is primarily responsible for working with Regions EMS Medical Direction customers and the EMS office to maintain EMS supply/pharmaceutical inventory and deliver supplies/pharmaceuticals to EMS provider agencies. The EMS Pharmaceutical & Supply Technician may also work with customers to review processes and make recommendations that help customers improve operational efficiency, reduce inventory levels and manage supply costs. The EMS Pharmaceutical & Supply Technician may assist the EMS Education division with ordering EMS equipment, maintain the EMS and Community Paramedicine supply areas and prepare equipment for EMS classes. This individual will report to the EMS Pharmaceutical Supervisor and may receive task specific direction from the EMS Director, Manager or EMS Clinical Supervisors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Two years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician in a pre-hospital setting.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

Possesses a current valid MN or WI driver's license with a clean driving record containing no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 year period.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat software.

Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with patient care providers, EMS and hospital staff.

Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and by telephone.

Active problem solving, flexibility, self-motivation and self-learning, with a desire to work with diverse customer base.

Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines with a high attention to detail.

High level of organizational and prioritization skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in a healthcare related field

Experience:

Experience as an EMT crew member on an Advanced Life Support Ambulance.

Previous experience with supply chain management.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

Current State of MN certification as an EMT or Paramedic

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Working knowledge of pre-hospital medicine, medications, equipment and EMS education.

Experience teaching EMS related courses (i.e. CPR, First Responder, EMT, etc.)

Ability to independently gather, analyze and interpret technical and clinical data.

Demonstrated aptitude for healthcare quality and performance improvement principles, tools and processes.
