Required Skills:
* Demonstrated knowledge of site planning, design, and a practical knowledge of codes, permitting and working with regulatory agencies.
* Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and complete work in a fast-paced team environment to achieve project goals.
* Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with team members, clients, and government authorities.
* Knowledge and understanding of civil engineering land development practices, including site planning, site grading, and utility design.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
* Experience with stormwater management design and modeling software such as HydroCAD or XP-SWMM
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Project

Education and License Requirements:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Minimum 4 years of professional experience in civil land development or municipal engineering.
* Registered Professional Civil Engineer in any state.

Responsibilities

* Primary responsibility will be to lead the Civil design scope on a wide variety of projects in the Food/Distribution/Manufacturing and Public & Institutional market sectors.
* Coordinate technical activities and designs with multiple teams of Architects and Engineers at the Minneapolis studio and other company locations around the country.
* Plan and direct the work of junior engineers.
* Prepare engineering reports, calculations and specifications to support the civil design scope.
* Review design documents and specifications for quality control, code compliance, constructability and risk management.
* Represent the Civil group at meetings with the project team, clients, and regulatory agencies.
* Perform Construction Administration duties including shop drawing review, RFI responses, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept.
* Mentor and encourage the development of junior engineers.
* Review proposals to establish the project Civil scope requirements, identify potential risks, and prepare fee estimates.
* Occasional project-related travel may be required.
