Job Description: |
Wenck, now part of Stantec is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Facilities & Process Engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with Process Engineers and Process Designers on industrial projects, with heavy focus on food-based projects.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Four-year (minimum) degree in an appropriately related discipline, such as Chemical Engineering, Bioproducts Engineering, Food Engineering, etc.
5+ years of relevant engineering experience
Strong background of food process systems and sanitary design.
Strong understanding of standards and regulations for food plants such as FDA, USDA, Dairy 3A
Able on to work independently as well as part of a team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with both clients and project team members, with a strong customer service attitude.
Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong organizational skills for maintaining project files and information received from clients and vendors.
Basic understanding of task hour estimating and being accountable for personal hour budgets.
Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done.
Able to travel regionally, conduct short overnight trips, or other
Responsibilities:
Development of mass & energy balance
Development of process flow diagrams and P&IDs
Development of performance specifications for process equipment and unit operations.
Performing fieldwork necessary to gather data, check tie-ins and provide construction support.
Assist in preparation of proposals and estimating of new projects
Coordinating with other disciplines and construction trades.
