You will be on the front lines of ensuring that the system solutions Cray delivers fulfill and exceed our customers demanding requirements for scale, performance, usability, reliability, and manageability. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to sound software engineering principles and a demonstrated knowledge of the full development lifecycle Agile development expertise is a strong plus.Knowledge and technical skills to implement technical strategies, evaluate products and provide constructive input to improve products and processes.A proven track record of success in large scale hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of LINUX-based software, networks, filesystems, applications and system management toolsThe ability to work well in a cooperative and transparent development environment, both within and across teams.A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace new challenges.RequirementsExtensive working knowledge of servers, networks, filesystems, LINUX based operating systems and software.Experience with virtualization, containerization, and cluster systemsExperience with automation softwareProgramming ability; C/C , Python, Go, JavaSolid scripting skillsGood problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills ability to work successfully in a team environmentHigh Performance Computing experience is a plusDesigns, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.Responsibilities:Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.Leads a project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for assigned systems portion or subsystem.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.Represents the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
