| Job Description: |
Join the Pioneer Care Force as a Cottage Helper. We’ve designed this new, temporary position to become an important part of our direct care team, helping meet Pioneer Cottages residents’ social needs and assisting nursing staff with non-nursing essential functions.
If you’re wired to care about others and eager to help, you can do this without direct experience in health care. As a Cottage Helper, you will work in a small, family-scaled environment at one of our Pioneer Cottages for memory care.
You will need to have a sense of empathy for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory loss. In this position, your mission is to perform a variety of activities on a regular basis, such as:
-Reading and spending social time one-on-one with Pioneer Cottages residents
-Assisting with physically-distanced group activities and worship services
-Using technology to facilitate virtual visits with family members and friends
-Screening visitors who are identified as Essential Caregivers
-Recognizing when a resident needs a caregiver or nurse’s assistance
-Serving and conversing with residents at meals and snack times
-Helping with supply stocking, laundry, and other light housekeeping tasks
-Adhering precisely to Pioneer’s infection control policies and procedures
Pioneer Cottages operate 24/7. Shifts and hours are flexible and can be tailored to fit your schedule. No experience is necessary; we will train you.
