JOB SUMMARY: (See job description for full details)

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for welding using alternative materials and process such as MIG and Pulse.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

Operates all equipment in a safe manner, following all approved safety procedures always.

Loads and unloads jigs and fixtures with parts according to Welder’s direction, ensuring that clamps are tightened appropriately.

Maintains stock level of parts on all welding tables.

Counts correct number of welds on each operation.

Moves completed parts to next department for finishing.

Assists other welders in maintaining production in accordance with company standards.

Report to the supervisor any and all problems which may affect safety, equipment, or quality.

Capable of welding alternative materials and processes such as MIG and Pulse.

Inspects own work to ensure that work is performed in a manner consistent with established levels of quality and quantity.

Reads and understands drawings to locate required weld locations.

Must understand weld symbols and the correct views of drawings.

Use basic hand tools such as measuring tape square, hand drill, grinder, chisel, etc.

Performs general and preventative equipment maintenance.



OTHER DUTIES:

May learn welding procedures to become familiar with all department operations.

May operate automatic welding equipment when necessary, including robot welder.

May assist maintenance in dismantling and repair of equipment.

May work closely with other departments on prototypes and in the resolution of potential problems.

May perform a variety of reasonably similar or related duties as instructed.



NOTE: To be eligible for these positions, existing Cannon Equipment employees and Contract/ Temporary staff must be in “good standing” which includes, but is not limited to: good attendance record, current performance rating of "Meets Expectations" or above, good safety record and must not be under any disciplinary measure/action. In addition, Cannon employees must normally have been in their current position at least six continuous (6) months. The progressive step program will be utilized to enable suitably qualified applicants to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to progress within the job levels.
