Job Description:
The Physics and Astronomy Department at St. Cloud State University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor position for Spring 2021. The Physics and Astronomy Department serves ~225 students per year with six tenured faculty members and two fixed-term positions in about 20 different Physics courses and 6 different Astronomy courses.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach 2-3 undergraduate courses with laboratories, advise students, engage in scholarly activities, and participate in continual development of curriculum and assessment activities.

Examples of possible courses to teach include; algebra-based PHYS231 (General Physics I), PHYS232 (General Physics II), and calculus based PHYS 234 (Classical Physics I) PHYS 235 (Classical Physics II), as well as PHYS 103 (Concepts of Physics) and PHYS 131 (Preparatory Physics). Depending upon specialty, the successful applicant may also teach either PHYS 334 (Thermal Physics) or PHYS 333 (Optics).
