The University of Minnesota in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Physicians have opened new positions to the growth of the Gastroenterology Division and expansion into the MHeath Fairview Southdale Hospital (https://www.fairview.org/Locations/Fairview-Southdale-Hospital) in Edina, MN, a suburb of Minneapolis. We are seeking candidates who wish to work within an academic environment in the Department of Medicine, Division ofGastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and provide high-level patient-centered care. Become an integral team member within an academic Division that is dedicated to cutting-edge and patient-centered care. The positions are clinically focused with the opportunity to teach, conduct research and participate in other academic activities. Candidates will have excellent skills and interest in general gastroenterology and hepatology. We are particularly interested individuals focused on disorders of gut-brain interactions and gastroparesis. We practice a team-based healthcare delivery model that incorporates allied health professionals in GI Health Psychology and Nutrition. As a large academic practice, we work closely with our colleagues in surgery, radiology, and pathology, as well other medical specialties. Call responsibilities will be shared within the GI Department. We are a growing division with 23 physicians, 6 advance practice providers and two dieticians. We are leaders in pancreaticobiliary disease, transplant hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal disorders and the microbiota. We provide opportunities for continued development with educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists. State-of-the-art facilities including newly built clinics and endoscopy suites About the Division: The Division plays a leading and integral role in Hepatology and liver transplantation, hosting one of the longest standing liver transplant programs in the United States. The Division is home to a nationally-recognized division for ERCP, EUS, and management of complex pancreas/biliary disorders. Historically, the Division has made a number of seminal contributions in the fields of hepatology and nutrition, and generates important knowledge in our understanding of liver metabolism. More recently, the Division has contributed to the understanding of the role of pancreaticobiliary endoscopy in the management of a number of clinical conditions, including malignant hilar biliary obstruction, complications of ERCP, endoscopic therapy of pancreatic diseases, and of sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. The Division continues to maintain highest ambitions for excellence in all three of its major missions: patient services, teaching, and research. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training programs. BC/BE in Gastroenterology through ABIM Candidates with experience are preferred; however, fellows are encouraged to apply. Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
