Required Skills:

** Two years of experience as a teacher in an early learning setting
** Minnesota Early Childhood (Birth – Grade 3) teaching license
** Experience working with parents and families in an early learning setting
** Experience working with diverse communities and/or multilingual families
** Certification in First Aid and CPR
** Must be mobile and ambulatory with an ability to lift and carry young children
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supervising or managing student workers

Job Description:
This position is responsible to lead the day-to-day operations of an Early Care and Education Classroom. This position is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of the student staff and management of the services they provide. This position provides guidance for both student staff and parents in curriculum development and developmentally appropriates practices, community development, crisis management, response to emergency situations and conflict resolution. This position develops and implements a curriculum based on evaluation and assessment on two levels; one for the children attending the program and one for the SCSU student staff. This position supports the growth and early childhood development of children of university students, faculty, and staff within the framework of a loving, accepting, and respectful child care facility. The environment and curriculum are the ultimate responsibility of the teacher.
